No, this is not a post about a black and white kitty. This is about a cowkitty of a different color.
I am proud to announce that I recently became a Cat Scout. Many of you know about Cat Scouts but for those who don’t, it is a place for cats of the blogosphere to have fun, learn and do service projects. I’ve been wanting to join for a while but mom kept saying she couldn’t keep up with all my STUFF as it was without adding Scouts. Finally, thank catness, when they started the traveling flat cats, I begged and she couldn’t resist anymore.
Saturday was just a purrfect day! Lots of my friends stopped by to wish me a happy birthday and Echo and Ocean a happy gotcha day. The evening was very quiet with no fireworks boomers.
Mom was here with us most of the day except when she went to see her pet sitting kitties. On the way back from her morning visits, she wanted to stop and get us a little treat to add to the celebration. She was going to get us some new kitty grass but the pet store was out! Bummer. We have lots of toys but she said she figured that was the next best thing.
When she got home, she laid the toys out to take a picture and Ocean claimed them immediately – before she even got them open or the tags off.
I am still pretty new at blogging (My one-year blogoversary is coming up in two months. Can you believe it?), so I almost missed International Box Day. But here I am thanks to a heads up from my friend Sammy over at onespoiledcat.
Since I had never heard of this, I had to research it. Once again, Google is my friend. Here is the explanation from Wag ‘n Woof Pets, one of the hosts of the event:
International Box Day is an annual blogosphere event created many years ago as an opportunity for cat blogs to show off funny photos of their cats in boxes (who doesn’t have a photo of their cat in a box?). Later on, dog blogs were also invited to join in … Continue reading →
Even though we eat homemade raw food, mom is always looking for healthy raw diet alternatives. When mom thought I might come to BlogPaws, it was one of her main concerns. My raw food has to be refrigerated and I like it warm. How would she do that in the hotel room? A freeze dried food like the one Primal makes would have been a perfect solution here. It is lightweight and could be mixed with warm tap water in the hotel room. Mom was so busy talking to the folks at Primal that she forgot to get a picture.
Several times I have mentioned that I was going to show you photos of the spring flowers on our deck but the weather had other ideas. Everything has pretty much recovered and, in fact, mom has added several more pots, so we have lots of color out there. Some of the flowers, like the freesia, have come and gone, but others have taken their place. This is the first time in years mom has had flowers in the yard so she is pretty happy with them. She really likes looking out the kitchen window on the pretty view.
I have to admit, I like smelling them — especially my two pots of catnip!
Lots of layers and tinkering with this one in Photoshop Elements. I thought a straw hat would have been cute so I could join some of my blogging friends but mom said, “Maybe another time.” I think I will hold her to that. She has never put a Photoshop hat on me. She’s tried a couple of real ones and, well, let’s just say it didn’t work out.
Have a great weekend!
As we try to do every Saturday, we are joining the Caturday Art Blog Hop hosted by Athena and Marie. Click on the badge to see more great art or to join in the hop.
Whew! We finished the Blogging from A to Z Challenge yesterday. We had a few glitches, like when mom went out of town for a few days, but mostly, we did it! Will we do it again next year? I’m not sure. It was very tedious challenging writing six days a week (seven if we did Sunday Selfies with The Cat on My Head) and finding topics that applied to me. I guess that’s why it is called a challenge, but it may be too much for this cat and her old mom. Mom says maybe we need to learn to think outside the box more! I’m not sure why … Continue reading →
Oh, those smells. Those wonderful smells. Mom spent the whole day in the kitchen today and boy was it a bonus for us!
When she went to Costco on Friday on her way back from Southern California, she bought a whole bunch of meat to restock the freezer.
She got lots of chicken thighs for us that she uses for our raw food, but she got extra too. Today, she ground some of the extra for the freezer for her. First bonus, we got some of the meat while she was cutting it up. And if you think raw chicken doesn’t have a strong aroma, then you are not a cat! We come running from wherever we are in the house when the chicken comes out of the … Continue reading →
