Fall is mom’s favorite season and I’m pretty fond of it too. It’s cool enough that the doors and windows are open most of the time but there’s still plenty of nice, warm sunpuddles. Mom loves the warm colors of fall.
Although this week’s Caturday Art might look like a scene from our recent Butte Fire, it is just one of our very spectacular sunsets. Mom did so much tweaking to this piece that I don’t even know where to begin and you probably don’t want to know those boring details anyway!
Here are the original photos of the sunset and of me.
Mom used clipart for the leaves and … Continue reading
The Traveling Bikini arrived here mid-September while we were evacuated from the fire. It was waiting at the Post Office when we got back home. Mom apologizes for holding it hostage for so long but has been dealing with a lot of things, mostly computer issues since the fire, and hasn’t been able to write my posts for me much. It’s not very practical to write blog posts from an iPhone. At least that’s what mom says.
Do you know about the Traveling Bikini? Back in May, Phoebe of 15andmeowing had the (fun?) idea to send a bikini around to her friends for them to take photos in, and so began The Kittyhood of the Traveling Bikini. The first kitties to get it after Phoebe were … Continue reading
Mom cheated a little bit on today’s Caturday Art. She didn’t do a whole lot to the original photo – she just applied the posterize filter with pretty minimal settings.
Here’s the original photo.
Then she used the cutout tool on photos from the Lionesses on the Prowl post and added them.
She added additional layers to create the mat and frame.
And there I am, traveling with flat cats Izzy and Tristy in my dreams.
Have a dreamy day.

When we started on this week’s Caturday Art project, we thought we would see if the topic for #52Snapshots over at The Lazy Pit Bull was something we could incorporate. Boy, did we get lucky this week. How much more purrfect could this week’s topic be: sleepy. The only thing that could make it better is if it was “sleeping.” Since that is what I’m best at, mom had no trouble finding a recent, less than perfect, photo of me doing just that.
Mom started out in Photoshop Elements with her usual multiple layers then started applying different filters to each one then different blending modes. In the final version, the bottom photo layer has the glowing edges filter applied. The next layer the accented edges filter with the blending mode set to overlay. A third layer of the photo has the middle cut out leaving just a … Continue reading
Ocean and I worked really hard on our selfies this week and I think we did a pretty good job. Ocean’s is in better focus than mine but at least we are both looking at the camera– well, mostly.
Echo was sleeping in the back bedroom and did not want to be disturbed!
Since we missed Caturday Art yesterday, I decided to turn one of my selfies in to a quickie artsy selfie.
What do you think? Does it make my nose look big?
We haven’t posted much or been around to visit all week. Mom just can’t seem to get her old brain back in gear after being out of town for a few days so I haven’t been pushing her too much. She has seemed a little tired. Also, she’s been working on our very special post for tomorrow. Tomorrow is my one year blogoversary! Can you believe … Continue reading
No, this is not a post about a black and white kitty. This is about a cowkitty of a different color.
I am proud to announce that I recently became a Cat Scout. Many of you know about Cat Scouts but for those who don’t, it is a place for cats of the blogosphere to have fun, learn and do service projects. I’ve been wanting to join for a while but mom kept saying she couldn’t keep up with all my STUFF as it was without adding Scouts. Finally, thank catness, when they started the traveling flat cats, I begged and she couldn’t resist anymore.
You may remember that mom made a flat of me to take to BlogPaws. We still have that one but it is so large (life size) that it would … Continue reading
Today’s Caturday Art project was created in Photoshop Elements. When mom applied the poster edges filter to this photo, I told her she had used this effect before, but she likes it so much I couldn’t get her to change it. Here’s the original photo. I’m sitting in my favorite window where I have the best view of BirdTV. (Tabbies, just read that SquirrelTV.)
This is the older project she did (one of our first projects for Caturday Art) using this filter. She liked that one so much she even used it for my Christmas card last year.
And here’s this … Continue reading
Wow! Can you believe it? This is my 200th post. And what better way to celebrate than with a special graphic for Caturday Art. Here’s what mom and I came up with for today in Photoshop Elements.
I have had so much fun being here with all of you and getting to know some of you. I am happy and grateful to call so many of you friends.
Have a celebratory day!
