We love our nip and I know we’re not alone there. We love to smell it, roll in it and eat it.
Mom stores some of our mousies and other small toys in the catnip jar. When she takes them out to give them to us, oh boy, do they smell good! They soak up all those odors and are just wonderful.
After we play with our own for a while, we have to check out each other’s toys. If someone is silly enough to toss their toy into my area, I may just claim it too.
I’m looking forward to the spring when my gardener (that would be mom, of course) plants and tends my catnip and silvervine farm. I will oversee the cultivation of my plantation from the comfort of … Continue reading →
I can’t believe it has been over a week since my last post! I just can’t seem to get my typist under control. She keeps telling me there is still so much to do at the new place and that she doesn’t have time to sit down and type for me. She keeps making lists and going shopping but hasn’t brought anything home for us since the new cat tree, unless you count the chicken for our food and more of the new litter she has decided she likes. Fortunately, we like it too.
Another thing that has taken up a lot of her time is cooking! She hasn’t done much of that in quite a long time and she seems to be having a lot of fun with … Continue reading →
I was planning to post about bird TV yesterday but mom got too busy to type for me. The weather TV is predicting 3″ of rain over the next five days and mom needed to do some work on horse sister Dancer’s stall.
Off she went yesterday morning to do some shopping. She said she was so glad it wasn’t the usual kind of Black Friday shopping because she hates crowds. She and Kelly and fur buddy Dieter went to Tractor Supply for mats for the stall. What a pleasant surprise she got when the stall mats were $10 off for Black Friday. When you are buying eight, that’s a big savings!
While she was at Tractor Supply she also bought some bird feeders which she had been promising us but I guess she won’t be able to put them up until the rain stops. This will surely bring in some … Continue reading →
Wow, it seems like forever since I’ve written a post and been able to visit my friends. I missed you all so much and have so much to tell you!
There is still a lot for mom to do here in the new house, but the move itself is finally complete. We all came up on October 22nd with the furniture and the majority of what was getting moved. When mom was packing, she made sure she had all of our stuff! She wanted us to feel as much at home as possible, especially since she wouldn’t be here with us for 2 1/2 weeks!
Everything was loaded in a big U-Haul truck which mom drove. Echo, Ocean and I were in our carriers (mom never did have time to get me one … Continue reading →
It looks like this move thing is really happening. The house is a disaster! There are boxes everywhere and furniture is getting moved around. It is so hard to imagine that this will actually take place in just 2 1/2 weeks! How can everything possibly be done in that amount of time? I’m supervising, of course, but it seems mom is just not moving fast enough!
The cat room is completely torn apart. The cat room was a wonderful place. It is where mom kept the foster kitties when they first came to stay with us. There were some large wire crates in there for kitties that needed to have movement restricted after surgery or for any other reason that they needed to be confined. There were great cat trees and a comfortable chair. We got to go in when there were no kitties in it … Continue reading →
Mom wanted to show you what the area we are moving to in gold country looks like but she couldn’t find any photos! She has been to visit her friend, Kelly, a couple of times but could find no photographic evidence. They took several day trips (there are LOTS of wineries) and she has photos of those but nothing of the area right around the house. The following video is a little teaser taken from Kelly’s porch. Boy, do those trees look tall!
Here is a photo from a hike mom and Kelly took just a short distance from the house.
Oh my catness! Mom finally told us what the big change is. As some of you guessed from the boxes, we are moving. But that’s not the half of it. I’m not going to be a city cat anymore. I’m going to be a country cat! Thank catness I don’t have to be as “country” as my country cousins. I’ll still be an indoor kitty but mom says it will be very different there.
She didn’t tell us sooner what was going on because things kept changing. She knew we had to move in October but she didn’t know where exactly we were going to live. Two options near where we live now, both of which she thought were meant … Continue reading →
