Traveling with Cats
Whether you are a seasoned veteran traveler or getting ready to head out on your first trip, I bet you’ll find lots of useful information on traveling with cats in these posts from some of my best pals. Oh, and there’s even a post written by mom for her Savvy Pet Care blog. It stars me, of course!
Planning – Before You Go
Every successful trip starts with a great plan. This is especially important when traveling with cats. Rules are different for us than for humans. Here are things to take care of before you go.
In case you haven’t been following along, I’ve been telling you about my road trip this past week. You can read Part 1 here and Part 2 here. I especially liked yesterday’s Part 3 post about my Missed Adventure.
Since I spent a lot of time in our wonderful hotel room at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass during BlogPaws, I wanted to tell you about it.
We saw some amazing sunrises.
Our room was so bright and sunny. It had the most pawsome sun puddles in the morning!
Before I tell you about my missed adventure, I want to remind you about my big birthday/gotcha day celebration and giveaway on Monday. Be sure to visit and enter for a chance to win some great prizes!
My Missed Adventure
I really enjoy riding around in my stroller with the top open so I can look around. I even liked doing it at BlogPaws as long as there weren’t too many loud noises or a lot of woofies.
On Saturday afternoon, on our way back to the room to rest up before the Nose-to-Nose Awards banquet, I decided it was time to explore the joint on my own.
As we got off the elevator, I jumped out … Continue reading
When last I left you, in Road Trip – Part 1, it was shortly after 6 am on Wednesday and we were on the road to Chandler, Arizona, and BlogPaws 2016.
I sang mom a tune or two when we first started but then got tired and just hung out. I tried to nap but it just didn’t seem to happen. So many strange noises outside and the motion of the car did NOT lull me to sleep.
Mom only made two quick stops along the way so we arrived at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler before noon. At first, mom thought she was going the wrong way. The hotel is down a narrow, two lane road kind of out in the middle of nowhere, or so it seemed.
Check in was a breeze and we … Continue reading
Whew! What a wild week. I don’t even know where to start so I guess I’ll just start at the beginning!
Some of you probably know that mom wanted to take me to BlogPaws last year but she felt she didn’t get me out enough, then I had that awful experience with the woofies next door. She was worried that I would be too afraid with all the dogs around and boy, am I glad she made that decision after what I saw the past few days.
This year, we worked at it much more diligently. I started spending lots of time out in the yard once the weather got better and I really got into that. Our yard is totally fenced and mom was always out with me so she let me out without a leash! Woohoo! I didn’t even worry too much … Continue reading
I teased you a little yesterday with my selfies but it really wasn’t that hard to guess where I was. Most of you figured out that I was getting more car time in preparation for my trip to the BlogPaws conference in June. Mom had errands and it was a beautiful, sunny day — purrfect for a family outing. Well, not the whole family.
As you may remember, I haven’t been that happy riding in the car. Mom thought maybe it was the carrier I didn’t like so she had decided to try the larger … Continue reading
Today is the day I would normally tell you about a wonderful kitty available for adoption through A-PAL Humane Society; however, when mom went to the Feed Barn yesterday to photo the kitties, there was only one there! What pawsome news, right? Well, there is a bit of a down side to the good news. The bad news is that the one lonely kitty who was there was Flower Puss. I told you about her a couple of weeks ago and she is still looking for her purrfect forever family. So, I would really appreciate it if you would click on her story … Continue reading
Mom has really been trying to work with me to get me ready for the BlogPaws conference in June. I’ve been wearing my harness a lot but what I need to work on now is getting out of the house and around people. The problem is, it hasn’t stopped raining, and even snowing, in weeks. When we have one or two days without rain, mom has outdoor chores to do and then it starts raining again. Mom says we can’t complain though. After four years of drought, we need all the rain and snow we can get.
A couple of weeks ago, mom finally decided to take me out on a … Continue reading
