My contact at A-Pal Humane Society is on vacation so I don’t have any details about the kitties available this week. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so here’s at least 6,000 words about some fabulous felines available for adoption. Contact A-Pal Humane Society in Jackson, California if you are interested in meeting any of them. Beginning next Tuesday, I’ll be back to spotlighting one special kitty each week.
Remember, sharing is caring. Please share to help these kitties find their forever homes.
You may have read a few weeks ago that I finally got to join Cat Scouts. When the scouts started traveling with their flats, I just couldn’t stand it any more. I begged mom to let me join and she gave in! I really wanted to go visit some of my friends.
My friend, Dezi of DezizWorld, was just going to host scout visitors because her mom didn’t have the green papers for a flat and to send Dezi traveling. While mom was making my flat, she had an idea and sent an email to Dezi’s mom. The end result? Dezi and I, that is Izzy and Tristy, will be traveling the world together! OMC! What adventures we are going to have. We are calling the saga of our travels Lionesses on the Prowl!
I didn’t get much information about this gorgeous girl so I am letting each picture of her speak 1,000 words. Phoebe is available for adoption from A-Pal Humane Society in Jackson, CA. Contact them at 209-223-0410.
Here’s what A-Pal told us about her:
Phoebe is a 6-year-old dilute calico. She was turned in at the animal shelter as a stray so we do not know much about her other than she is very sweet.

Kudo’s to a Great Team
Here’s another picture worth a thousand words.
In May, A-Pal shared this graph on their Facebook page with this caption:
Here I am with my very first kitty from A-Pal Humane Society in Jackson, CA. I’m excited to be an Advo-Cat for this terrific rescue organization and hope to make a difference in helping place their available kitties.
Meet Spookie who is anything but — just look at that face!
Here’s what A-Pal has to say about him.
This handsome 8-year-old boy wants nothing more than to be petted. He is a real lover boy who would make a great lap cat. Spookie has had some bladder issues and needs to be fed Hills CD diet, but other than that he is healthy and happy and ready to go to his new forever home. Stop by the Feed Barn in Jackson if you would like to meet him.
Mom was taking a few minutes this morning helping me catch up with a few blogs before getting started with the packing again. She was looking at some of the Caturday art and feeling bummed. It’s her favorite post — well, I guess it would have to be since it is her only post on my blog — and she was thinking she didn’t have time to work on one. Then she remembered that she had done one earlier in the week just in case things got really hairy as the move got down to the wire.
In this photo, mom “selected” Jan and put her on a separate layer. She then used a couple of filters on the original layer to decrease the detail then applied the emboss and chrome filters to the background layers.
If you read my post, Hard Decisions, you know that mom is trying to find new homes for some of my adopted brothers and sisters. MeoowzResQ had their regular Sunday adoption event at the Petco in Anaheim yesterday so mom took Fontana to see if someone might see her and fall in love. Fontana is a beautiful Siamese mix with gorgeous blue eyes — almost as striking as mine! She is a sweet girl who loves to cuddle. You can read more about her here. She was really scared at first but mom held her for a while and she realized it wasn’t so bad there. Unfortunately, it was a really slow day … Continue reading →
Mom has debated about whether or not to write this post but feels it is an important topic regardless of any backlash she might get. While working for the rescue, she has seen many occasions where people have reached out for help with their kitties because they have to move and can’t take them with them. Some of the very condemning responses went something like, “How awful those people are. I would never give up my babies. I just wouldn’t move someplace where I couldn’t take them.” Mom is so glad that she never judged those people. No matter what you think you know, you don’t know the whole story.
When mom bought her condo twelve years ago, she never dreamed she would ever have to move from it. Then came the down turn in the economy. After struggling through that, she was hit with health issues which further deteriorated … Continue reading →
We’ve had some MeoowzResQ foster kittens in the house for about a week now but none of us bigger cats have gotten to see them yet. They are upstairs in the kitty room because they are sick and getting medication. Mom says they have an upper respiratory infection. Mom took some photos of them though and they look pretty cute! They don’t look so sick to me!
Mom says they are both so sweet. The black one holds mom’s face with her paws and kisses her nose. She had a hard time getting a picture of her. Mom says she is a ball of energy and is always on the move or wants to be in her lap and won’t stay far enough … Continue reading →
