OMC! I bet you can’t believe I’m posting but I just had to tell you some things.
Between spring being on the verge of happening and the BlogPaws Conference coming up next week, mom has gotten a bee in her bonnet. She says that even though we aren’t going to BlogPaws this year, it is inspiring her. She has gotten out all my harnesses and made me start wearing them. I got really used to wearing one when I got to go to BlogPaws in 2016. I haven’t worn one in a while so they feel a little strange. I was slinking a little at first but lots of treats helped me get over that pretty quickly!
I wonder when I’ll get to go out in the yard on a leash. That dog that hates cats still lives next door and mom is a little concerned about … Continue reading
As you may know, mom will be attending her second BlogPaws conference in June. Last year, even though she had planned to take me, she ended up going by herself. My harness training just didn’t go as planned!
For this year’s conference, she really wants me to go with her so she had planned to work diligently on my harness training and getting me out in public. So far, the weather has put a damper on that. It has been raining almost steadily since Christmas. Mom says rain won’t make me melt but she wants my trips out to be pleasant.
On Monday, mom got out the treats and I ran through my tricks a couple of times, so far sit, high five and up. Then the harness went on. No problem. We do this often.
I followed mom around for a while … Continue reading
Mom has really been trying to work with me to get me ready for the BlogPaws conference in June. I’ve been wearing my harness a lot but what I need to work on now is getting out of the house and around people. The problem is, it hasn’t stopped raining, and even snowing, in weeks. When we have one or two days without rain, mom has outdoor chores to do and then it starts raining again. Mom says we can’t complain though. After four years of drought, we need all the rain and snow we can get.
A couple of weeks ago, mom finally decided to take me out on a … Continue reading
A while back, mom went to a big craft fair in Sacramento called The Harvest Festival. She went last year, too, and since we had just moved here, she got a few nice things for the house.
Well, this year, I thought maybe she’d bring something back for me. Remember when she went to her first cat show to see our pal, Summer? Do you remember what she brought back for me? A pooper scooper! Now, what kind of a gift is that for a cat? Isn’t that really just another gift for her? And what did she think made it all right? It is purple. Yes, I like purple — purple feathers, purple catnip … Continue reading
Good morning friends. Can you see I have my harness on? Mom has been making me wear it a lot lately. She says I have to step up my game so that I’ll be ready for BlogPaws next June. I was so NOT ready for this past BlogPaws in Nashville.
I’m much more comfortable in my harness now. I don’t try to run and hide when I see it come out anymore because I know I will get treats after it is on. It still feels a little funny but I’m OK with it for the most part.
Mom says the next step is to go for some rides in the car. That should … Continue reading
When we decided I was not going to go to BlogPaws, mom was sad because so many other kitties would be there and she wanted me to be with her. But I was very slow to take to the harness and mom wasn’t very consistent with my training. I went on my first walk in the yard, actually off the patio, the end of March. Here’s my video!
On my second walk in the yard, I had a really bad experience with Dieter, the dog next door who lives with mom’s friend, Kelly. I was out walking around my yard when Dieter came outside. He looked curious and we walked over near the fence. Then the most horrible thing happened. He started screeching and screaming so loud that it nearly scared me to death! I pulled and pulled on the leash. I tried to get away and Dieter started lunging … Continue reading
Today is National Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day and I have just one burning question for mom. Why do you insist on continuing to torture me with the harness?
Mom replies: Oh, Christy, you are doing so much better with the harness, how can it still be torture? To answer your question, I really, really want you to be able to go for walks outside. I think once you are used to it, you will enjoy it so much you will be sorry you fought it so hard. You love it … Continue reading
If you read my post, Hard Decisions, you know that mom is trying to find new homes for some of my adopted brothers and sisters. MeoowzResQ had their regular Sunday adoption event at the Petco in Anaheim yesterday so mom took Fontana to see if someone might see her and fall in love. Fontana is a beautiful Siamese mix with gorgeous blue eyes — almost as striking as mine! She is a sweet girl who loves to cuddle. You can read more about her here. She was really scared at first but mom held her for a while and she realized it wasn’t so bad there. Unfortunately, it was a really slow … Continue reading
