Sunday Selfies: Annoyed

Mom wanted me to take my selfies yesterday but I was a little miffed at her. Can you tell? She was making me wear the harness again — all day! Well, it seemed like all day. I did not want to look at the camera or push that stupid little button.

Harness selfiesFinally, I begrudgingly gave in. I decided that she does do some nice things for me and I hadn’t had dinner yet.

Ramping up Harness Training for the Big Change

Mom seems to be ramping up how much she makes me wear the harness. She was kind of slacking for a while Ramping up the harness training for the big changebecause she wasn’t feeling well, and when she was, she was busy. But now, she says, our big change (she still hasn’t told us what that is) is coming soon and she wants me to be walking on a leash.

I still kind of get stuck in place when she puts it on. When I do get up and walk around, it’s like I can’t stand up and I slink around. I see mom grinning and I hear her chuckling when I do this, even though she tries to hide it. I don’t think it is one bit amusing.

She’s … Continue reading

Echo’s Story

Mom loves to tell us the story of how Echo came into her life. It all began with another kitty named Topper.

Mom found Topper when he was a tiny baby. She was at the stable where her horses lived. She and a friend were walking down the stall isle when they heard pitiful little cries. They looked around and finally found him hiding among some trash cans. Mom took him home and he sat right in her lap the whole way. Mom said that was pretty amazing for a little feral kitty. He made himself at home immediately.

When Topper was about two years old, he escaped from the house. The patio screen door was open a few inches in the morning when mom got up. Either someone had left it open or he had opened it! Mom looked for him for weeks and was so sad. Her search for … Continue reading

A Perfect Day

Yesterday was a perfect day. It was Sunday so we all slept in a little. Then we had breakfast and I took a nap. After my nap, the best part happened. Mom went in the kitchen to make us a new batch of raw food. She has been feeding us raw food that she makes herself for about three years now. You can read how this came about and how she makes it here. Even Echo, who can be a picky eater, loves it!

Oh, I almost forgot the not so perfect part of the day. I’m still not doing great on the harness, so mom said she figured if she puts it on at meal times, I’ll walk around with it, distracted, since I like food so much. So, on it went, this time with the leash attached. She was pretty much right. I didn’t really forget … Continue reading

Harness Training

harness training - Christy Paws

Mom says we may be doing some traveling soon and she wants me to be able to get out of the car and go for walks with her. What? What is she talking about? Car? I never ride in the car. Oh, she says we will be practicing that too. What in the world is going on?

Beginning Harness Training

The first day she put the black harness on me, I refused to move with it on. It felt so strange – like someone had a hold of me by the chest. Echo got a harness on too. Why did he get the little purple one?

The next day, mom tried the little purple one on me to see if I liked that kind better. Well, at least she got the colorharness training Continue reading
