I just read the silliest thing on Facebook. An article in the Birmingham Mail says that now Facebook is responsible for black cats not getting adopted. As if they didn’t already have enough problems! The article goes on to say, “Black cats are said to photograph poorly for Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and the like, with more colourful felines pre-furred. Owners just don’t like snapping selfies with them.”
Really? I think this was just a publicity ploy for Cats Protection Birmingham (and I’m all for whatever it takes to get a kitty adopted) but mom took it as a challenge. Since we have little Beyonce, the foster kitten, here with us, mom decided she should learn at an early age how to … Continue reading →
Mom was excited when she discovered Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop because she loves to tinker around in PhotoShop. She’s done lots of artsy things with photos of us kitties and is happy to have a place to show them off.
This one is pretty simple. First she posterized the photo with my eyes deselected so that the filter didn’t effect them. Next she applied the craquelure filter for the texture including my eyes.
I look like I have lipstick on, don’t I? Happy Caturday everyone!
We’ve had some MeoowzResQ foster kittens in the house for about a week now but none of us bigger cats have gotten to see them yet. They are upstairs in the kitty room because they are sick and getting medication. Mom says they have an upper respiratory infection. Mom took some photos of them though and they look pretty cute! They don’t look so sick to me!
Mom says they are both so sweet. The black one holds mom’s face with her paws and kisses her nose. She had a hard time getting a picture of her. Mom says she is a ball of energy and is always on the move or wants to be in her lap and won’t stay far enough … Continue reading →
Mom saw a post on Bailey Boat Cat’s blog about his American Dream photo contest and wanted to post an entry; however, she said she was stumped for an idea for something to represent the American dream. I tried to help her out by asking for ideas on my Facebook page. Her friend, Debbie, replied suggesting something with ice cream. I really liked that idea because I LOVE ice cream. When mom gets a dish, I sit on the arm of her chair staring at her until she is finished and she gives me a little spoonful of the tasty elixir. But mom said she wasn’t sure how she could incorporate that idea in to a photograph.
Then, when she saw me laying on her cowboy boots, she says she got an idea but would need to borrow a prop from her friend, Nancy. Nancy had decorated … Continue reading →
Boy, mom is really taking this “safe while traveling” thing pretty seriously. A few days ago, she made sure my microchip information was all recorded properly and up to date. Yesterday, I got a new collar. Really, is this necessary? The collar felt weird at first too, like the harness, but I got used to it pretty quickly. It doesn’t grab me around my chest. Mom thought that maybe if I get used to the collar, the harness will be easier. Time will tell.
When she put the collar on, the confusing part was the dangly thing hanging from it that mom said was my ID tag. It’s to tell people how to contact her if I should accidentally escape. Right now, I can’t imagine that happening. If I … Continue reading →
Mom says we may be doing some traveling soon and she wants me to be able to get out of the car and go for walks with her. What? What is she talking about? Car? I never ride in the car. Oh, she says we will be practicing that too. What in the world is going on?
Beginning Harness Training
The first day she put the black harness on me, I refused to move with it on. It felt so strange – like someone had a hold of me by the chest. Echo got a harness on too. Why did he get the little purple one?
The next day, mom tried the little purple one on me to see if I liked that kind better. Well, at least she got the color Continue reading →
There are so many rescue groups out there because there are so, so many of us in need. Humans with big hearts try to save kitties like me from an early and sad fate. As far as rescue groups go, my heart belongs to MeoowzResQ because they saved my life when I was hurt and scared. Thanks to them, I now live a great life with my human mom and adopted brothers and sisters.
I’ve watched my mom blog for a couple of years now and decided that my own blog would be a good way for me to help other kitties. I see that lots of you out there feel the same way. Cats with blogs can make a difference. Together … Continue reading →
