Is this the New Normal?

When mom decided to retire and move from Southern California, I thought she would have lots more time to spendPatio in harness 3-26-15 041 with us. Some days, it does seem like that. She’ll sleep in a little bit with all of us curled up next to her. She’ll spend hours with me taking photos and collaborating with me on a blog post. She’ll read other blogs to me and we’ll make comments. She’ll put my harness on and take me outside to sit on the sunny patio or for a brief walk near the patio. We’ll snuggle for a nap or to watch a little afternoon TV. Now, that sounds like retirement to me!

A Few Words on Wordless Wednesday: Gray Mousie

Gray mousie 146 1017We have lots of mousies in our house. We have the little ones that live in Echo 153 1449our catnip jar and larger ones that stay mostly in our toy basket. None see as much action as gray mousie, Echo’s favorite. He carries it around, proudly announcing his hunting prowess. Of course, mom can never get a picture of him doing this. As soon as he sees her looking at him, he drops it at her feet. If she’s busy, he leaves it at the kitchen door. She has almost fallen so many times from stepping on it. She quickly jumps away … Continue reading

Bounty from the Kitchen

Oh, those smells. Those wonderful smells. Mom spent the whole day in the kitchen today and boy was it a bonus for us!

When she went to Costco on Friday on her way back from Southern California, she bought a whole bunch of meat to restock the freezer.

Public D chickenShe got lots of chicken thighs for us that she uses for our raw food, but she got extra too. Today, she ground some of the extra for the freezer for her. First bonus, we got some of the meat while she was cutting it up. And if you think raw chicken doesn’t have a strong aroma, then you are not a cat! We come running from wherever we are in the house when the chicken comes out of the … Continue reading

Spring Flowers

Spring Flowers

Mom and Kelly decided to treat themselves a couple of days ago and bring spring indoors. They bought several different bouquets at the market, combined them and then split them in half. Mom tried to get me to pose next to her bouquet.

Really, mom? I am waiting for dinner and you want me to pose for a picture? OK, fine, but then can we eat?

Since I wasn’t happy about posing by the flowers instead of being fed, I think I’ll show you my fangs!

Echo’s Ethereal Eyes

Echo's EyesCan you guess that today’s letter is E? I got a mention on C day, and Ocean will probably show up on O day, if mom can hang in that long, so it is only fair that E is for Echo and his beautiful (according to mom) eyes. She says she is partial to blue-eyed kitties but that there is just something about Echo’s eyes…

Mom forgot when she signed up for the Blogging from A-Z Challenge that she had to go to Southern California for a few days to take care of some business, so we are busy trying to get her ready to go and plan a few posts in advance. They will be short and sweet for the next few days!

Blogging from A-Z

We decided late yesterday, after I had published my post, to join the Blogging from A-Z Challenge. Since our post was about April Fool’s Day yesterday, I think we are OK.

Today, I was going to tell you about the giveaway I won but decided to save that for tomorrow. Tomorrow’s letter is C and it fits perfectly with that!

Today’s letter is B. Since mom has appointments today and not much time to type for me, we decided to show you some of our photos in boxes.

Have a bonny day!
