Cozy on a Fall Day

It’s Wednesday, but it has been so long since I posted, I just can’t be wordless! My plan is to be back full time beginning tomorrow. So, actually, I guess that makes it today. I have so much to tell you I hardly know where to start. In the next few days, I’ll do a post about the Butte Fire and our evacuation experience. That’s what started my hiatus and then things just kept happening. Hopefully, things are kind of back to normal and mom will have time and the mental ability to type my stories.

We are so lucky here that we see no evidence of the fire, either from our home or anywhere mom drives on a regular basis, even though it was so close. Tomorrow will probably be hard. She has a meeting in San Andreas and will likely be driving by a lot of the burn area.

Ocean vs. the New Cat Tree

You may have seen the post about what Ocean did to the (not so) new (now) cat tree while mom was gone to BlogPaws. Well, he has continued to have his way with it.

I have to admit, this tree is not the sturdiest, and for it’s size, this result is not that surprising. Also, the old mom says she may not be able to get it as tight as it needs to be to the ceiling.

Whatever the reason, mom was tired of fixing it and decided to remodel it. Ocean is sad because she removed is favorite part — the poles that went to the ceiling.

She put a shelf all the way across the top and put two of the tubes on it. The tubes used to be hanging down and we never used them. She thought maybe we would if they were on top. Ha! We have … Continue reading

We are not Spoiled Cats!

Hi Friends. I had planned to show you photos of the beautiful flowers on our deck today but it rained all day We are not Spoiled Cats! - Christy Pawsyesterday so mom couldn’t take photos. The flowers are a little worse for the wear, too. The rain and a little bit of hail kind of beat some of them up. It will probably be a few days now before they are pretty enough again for a public display. And mom got even more plants yesterday (including another catnip for me!) so she needs to plant a couple more pots. It is really looking lovely and I’ll show it to you soon.

Those of you who follow me probably think we are pretty spoiled cats when it comes to … Continue reading

Catification — One Shelf at a Time

Christy on the new shelf

Mom worked on a catification project for us the other day. She put up a shelf. Really? One shelf? She says she does have plans to put up several more shelves for us and I did hear someone say that every journey starts with just one shelf step.

Since she doesn’t have a saw and wanted to make this project as easy as possible for herself, she got pre-made shelves. She said she only got one so she could check out how the size would work for us.

She agonized for days over where to put this shelf. She just couldn’t decide. Now come on. If you are going to put up several shelves eventually, what does it matter where the first one goes? Just put it up already.

I have to say that we already have it pretty good. This is our family/kitty room, office and laundry room. Mom counted and there … Continue reading

Let the Catification Begin

When mom was in southern California packing up the rest of our belongings, she attended a fund raising event Scorewhere she won some great stuff including the Catification book by Jackson Galaxy and Kate Benjamin. (You may have read about this on my Facebook page.) I said when I heard about this that I hoped her first project at the new house would be a window shelf. Well, guess what. It was!

We have three great towers that are at window level, but only two are over the wall heaters where it is always toasty warm. Those are the two we like best but there are three of us. Someone is always left out. It is usually Echo because if he has a spot, Ocean will push him … Continue reading
