You may have seen the post about what Ocean did to the (not so) new (now) cat tree while mom was gone to BlogPaws. Well, he has continued to have his way with it.
I have to admit, this tree is not the sturdiest, and for it’s size, this result is not that surprising. Also, the old mom says she may not be able to get it as tight as it needs to be to the ceiling.
Whatever the reason, mom was tired of fixing it and decided to remodel it. Ocean is sad because she removed is favorite part — the poles that went to the ceiling.
She put a shelf all the way across the top and put two of the tubes on it. The tubes used to be hanging down and we never used them. She thought maybe we would if they were on top. Ha! We have showed her. We have not let her see us use that shelf, let alone the tubes, even once, except for the time when she was asleep and Ocean jumped on it from mom’s desk. She woke up so Ocean quickly got down, hoping she didn’t notice.
She thinks we don’t like it because it is too slick and she hasn’t put any carpet on it yet, but we know the truth, don’t we? Let me count the reasons. We liked it the way it was. We don’t like change. She removed Ocean’s favorite part. We weren’t consulted. And, yes, there’s nothing cushy on it.
Speaking of cushy, she put my beautiful new catnip mat that I won from 15andmeowing on the tree. I quickly claimed that spot as mine!
She says she has more plans for that shelf so we’ll see how long it takes her to get it done. Only time will tell if we will use it then.
Be sure to stop by on Saturday for my big Gotcha Day/Birthday celebration and giveaway.
Have a wonderful day!

Who needs a tree, when there’s catnip in a blankie 😀 Pawkisses 🙂 <3
That’s a cool cat tree and once the shelf is done it’ll be even better!
Our cat tree is pittiful compared to yours. Maybe you’ll like it when your Mom isn’t looking.
Gosh – I think the remodel is pretty cool! Nice spot on top to lie down and peek out the window and a swell tube too! Give it time – I think you’re gonna like the new version!
Hugs, Sammy
Da nip blanket are a good start.
Your Mom is very smart to have found a way to fix your tree. Thank you for showing your catnip mat 🙂 I am happy to see you enjoy it.
Oh we bet you’ll learn to like the redesigned cat tree. It looks pretty cool. And what a great way to watch what’s going on outside.
Those catnip blankies are fantabulous! Now that you’ve claimed it, don’t move. MOL
(((Shoko)))
I must say that is one of the coolest cat trees I have ever seen.
Seriouslies! We aren’t fans of change either!
We feel your pain! Yep, cats do NOT like change but I am sure they will adjust soon.
