So, it’s Sunday again and time for selfies. Some Sundays I’m up for this but not today. I was peacefully napping in my favorite spot when along came mom. Mom kept sticking the phone in my face and I kept kicking it away. I took this one with my back paws doing just that!
Since the moms wasn’t going away, I reluctantly agreed to try. Literally 12 shots later, I finally gave her a shot she was happy with.
Since this is the last Sunday Selfie post before Christmas, mom thought it would be nice to let each of us do … Continue reading →
Today’s project is doing double duty. It is our Caturday Art submission as well as our online Christmas card. It was all done in Photoshop Elements with multiple steps and multiple layers but nothing spectacular.
Wishing you all the happiest of holidays. I will be grateful to be celebrating the holidays with all of you!

I took my selfies before dawn this morning. Mom was dozing off after checking emails on her phone so I grabbed it. The photos are a little dark because I don’t know how to turn on the flashy. I don’t like it anyway so it is just as well. As you can see, somehow I got that mancat Echo in this photo so I tried another one.
This photo made me laugh. I accidentally pushed the button when I yawned! Mom says I shouldn’t use it but I think it is funny so I insisted. Who’s blog is it, anyway? You might think I was competing with Ocean for the biggest yawn. I almost got mom in too! Bet she really wouldn’t have let me use it then.
Then I forgot to look at the camera when I pushed the button.

Mom first created a duplicate layer then she applied the cutout filter to the original picture. Then she used the colored pencil filter on the copy of that layer. On the colored pencil layer she used the hard light blending mode. The frame is two separate layers filled with different colors. The dark layer started out by sampling a color from the photo. Then she applied the craquelure filter and to that accented edges.
When mom ordered our window shelf, she also ordered one of our favorite toys – a Cat Dancer. Mom has always called these toys “bugsy.” Whoever came up with the idea for bugsy was a genius. This toy couldn’t be simpler – a wire with some paper on the end – but I bet there isn’t a cat out there who isn’t mesmerized by them. You know, we cats are entertained by the simplest things!
We had a Cat Dancer a long time ago but, as it often happens with our toys, it disappeared. We probably finally killed it good. This bugsy didn’t come with the paw that our old one came with. … Continue reading →
