Preparing for our RV Trip — What We Cats Need to Do

Oh my cat! We will be leaving on our RV trip in just one month and there still seems to be a lot to do. Fortunately, the only thing we cats need to do to prepare for an RV trip is cooperate. In addition to getting us ready, mom has stuff to do for herself, the trailer and the house. She keeps adding to her list so she doesn’t forget anything. I won’t say we are excited but I think mom is. She’s always telling us about the plans for the trip.

Ocean hasn’t been out in the stroller lately but mom has continued to take me on rides. I got pretty stressed out a couple of weeks ago so recent rides have been much shorter. Ocean doesn’t mind riding in the stroller so he doesn’t need as much practice as I do. He even goes out in the yard on his leash!

Something else we cats have been doing to get ready for our RV trip is getting used to our carriers again. I haven’t been closed up in one for a couple of years and mom wants to be sure I’m still OK with it. She wasn’t fond of all the singing we did on our first trip in 2018.

She has put our open carriers on the floor near where she works so we can go in and out whenever we want. I love sleeping in mine but Ocean has only been in his a couple of times. (He prefers to sleep at mom’s feet.) We’ll also be getting some car ride time soon. You can read how mom is going about this by reading the latest Savvy Pet Care newsletter.

I tried out Ocean’s carrier but I like mine better.

The trailer will be back this weekend from its trip to Maine. Once it is at our house, mom can figure out what she’s going to do for us for places to hang out besides the bed and the couch. She has some ideas but says that because the trailer is so small it will be a challenge. She thinks our old cat tree that we had in the last trailer will just fit by the bed. If so, that’s a good start. It’s out on the screened porch right now and I like hanging in it out there.

I’ve been trying hard to be more cooperative with mom when she’s taking photos. I’ve been turning away from the camera a lot less – as long as she doesn’t take too long – and showing my blue eyes. What do you think of some of my latest Instagram photos?

Did you see the little video I posted on Twitter of our new flopping fish in action? It’s a pretty fun toy and the catnip smell is pawsome! It will be going on our RV trip with us along with some of our other favorite toys.

Are you ready to go #trippinwithChristy? By my next post we might be on the road, so plan to join us on our RV trip. See you again soon.

Kitty kisses,
