What’s the Big Deal About Bacon?

Mom saved us a piece!

Mom saved us a piece!

Ever since I started blogging, I’ve seen Sammy (one spoiled cat) talking about bacon. Bacon, bacon, bacon! He seems obsessed with it and others seem to share his enthusiasm for it.

I had never had bacon, so I asked mom about it. She said she never cooks it at home unless it’s as an ingredient for greens. She loves it but usually only has it when she goes out for breakfast. She said it’s not very good for you and too messy to cook at home. I think that’s just an excuse so I kept asking her about it.

Well, my bugging finally paid off. She cooked some for breakfast yesterday and saved us a piece!

OMC! How could she have been keeping this from me all this time?

I have a feeling it’ll be a while before we get it again but at least we got to try it. It reminds me of the special treat that mom makes for us which is a lot healthier. I’ll tell you all about it soon. She wants to wait until she makes it again and takes pictures.

Have a great week!

I’ve never had bacon but from the way you all devoured yours, I’m guessing it must be delicious.

Aw man, I’m so envious! My human neither eats nor cooks bacon (she’s one of those only-eats-chicken people, and her boyfriend eats fish only… maybe I should be glad they aren’t total vegetarians!). If I am lucky, maybe she’ll find some bacon somewhere on one of her outings and bring some home for me (she promised that she would if she saw some), but otherwise I’m out of luck.

Chicken is my favorite food, so I guess I could live with that. So glad for you they aren’t total vegetarians. I think your human might have to put some effort into finding that bacon for you while she is out. Good luck.

  8. Our mom hardly ever cooks bacon either, Christy, so we’ve never had it. But we’re gonna make sure she cooks us some so we can see why everybuddy loves it so much.
