Whew! What a wild week. I don’t even know where to start so I guess I’ll just start at the beginning!
Some of you probably know that mom wanted to take me to BlogPaws last year but she felt she didn’t get me out enough, then I had that awful experience with the woofies next door. She was worried that I would be too afraid with all the dogs around and boy, am I glad she made that decision after what I saw the past few days.
This year, we worked at it much more diligently. I started spending lots of time out in the yard once the weather got better and I really got into that. Our yard is totally fenced and mom was always out with me so she let me out without a leash! Woohoo! I didn’t even worry too much … Continue reading
It has been warm and sunny here and the doors and windows have been open a lot. Mom says that means spring is here. She has been working outside a little, getting the herb garden cleaned up and starting to re-pot the potted plants that survived the winter. She cleaned off the deck, put away the chair covers and brought out the cushions. She puttered around for a long time, rearranging furniture and plants.
We watched the birds on the garage roof from the dining room window and door. They weren’t deterred from gathering the seeds dropped by the big tree by mom’s bustling around.
Mom decided it was so beautiful out when she was done … Continue reading
I teased you a little yesterday with my selfies but it really wasn’t that hard to guess where I was. Most of you figured out that I was getting more car time in preparation for my trip to the BlogPaws conference in June. Mom had errands and it was a beautiful, sunny day — purrfect for a family outing. Well, not the whole family.
As you may remember, I haven’t been that happy riding in the car. Mom thought maybe it was the carrier I didn’t like so she had decided to try the larger carrier … Continue reading
Several times I have mentioned that I was going to show you photos of the spring flowers on our deck but the weather had other ideas. Everything has pretty much recovered and, in fact, mom has added several more pots, so we have lots of color out there. Some of the flowers, like the freesia, have come and gone, but others have taken their place. This is the first time in years mom has had flowers in the yard so she is pretty happy with them. She really likes looking out the kitchen window on the pretty view.
I have to admit, I like smelling them — especially my two pots of catnip!
The sad thing (for mom) about our yard is that even though we have quite a large yard, we have a low fence, and as you may have seen, the deer make themselves … Continue reading
Since the weather has been so beautiful here, I thought it would be nice to do my Sunday selfies on the deck this morning. The sun felt so good!
Even though Dancer doesn’t have her own blog to join up with The Cat on my Head, in the spirit of other animals joining in, mom helped her take some selfies. As you can see, she wasn’t very interested. Most of the time, her head was buried up to her eyeballs in her feeder looking for the tastiest bits.
Wishing you a bright, sunny day and the tastiest noms!

Back at the end of November, mom got us a couple of bird feeders on one of her many shopping trips. She had gotten rid of a lot of stuff before the move and some of it needed replacing. When she went to hang the feeders, she realized her little kitchen step ladder wasn’t tall enough to reach and she needed a ladder. Even once she got the ladder, there were more delays in hanging the feeders. Sheesh!
A couple of weeks ago, she got two more feeders and bird seed. She got a really pretty feeder with fake birdies on it and a purple one just for me! She said she had to do it but it is a little tacky so … Continue reading
Today is National Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day and I have just one burning question for mom. Why do you insist on continuing to torture me with the harness?
Mom replies: Oh, Christy, you are doing so much better with the harness, how can it still be torture? To answer your question, I really, really want you to be able to go for walks outside. I think once you are used to it, you will enjoy it so much you will be sorry you fought it so hard. You love it when the … Continue reading
Oh my catness! Mom finally told us what the big change is. As some of you guessed from the boxes, we are moving. But that’s not the half of it. I’m not going to be a city cat anymore. I’m going to be a country cat! Thank catness I don’t have to be as “country” as my country cousins. I’ll still be an indoor kitty but mom says it will be very different there.
She didn’t tell us sooner what was going on because things kept changing. She knew we had to move in October but she didn’t know where exactly we were going to live. Two options near where we live now, both of which she thought were meant … Continue reading
