September was National Preparedness Month. We didn’t write about it at the time — we got to live it. When the Butte Fire broke out on the afternoon of September 10th, mom knew we might have to evacuate. By the next morning, it was becoming a real probability so she started getting some things together like important papers and the computers and camera equipment. Late that morning she learned that we would definitely be evacuated and things got into full swing. We then had about two hours before we would have to leave.
Mom had our carriers ready and handy. She closed us in the family room and put the carriers in there with the doors open. … Continue reading
When we decided I was not going to go to BlogPaws, mom was sad because so many other kitties would be there and she wanted me to be with her. But I was very slow to take to the harness and mom wasn’t very consistent with my training. I went on my first walk in the yard, actually off the patio, the end of March. Here’s my video!
On my second walk in the yard, I had a really bad experience with Dieter, the dog next door who lives with mom’s friend, Kelly. I was out walking around my yard when Dieter came outside. He looked curious and we walked over near the fence. Then the most horrible thing happened. He started screeching and screaming so loud that it nearly scared me to death! I pulled and pulled on the leash. I tried to get away and Dieter started lunging … Continue reading
When mom decided to retire and move from Southern California, I thought she would have lots more time to spend with us. Some days, it does seem like that. She’ll sleep in a little bit with all of us curled up next to her. She’ll spend hours with me taking photos and collaborating with me on a blog post. She’ll read other blogs to me and we’ll make comments. She’ll put my harness on and take me outside to sit on the sunny patio or for a brief walk near the patio. We’ll snuggle for a nap or to watch a little afternoon TV. Now, that sounds like retirement to me!
Hi All! It is Super Bowl Sunday. Is that a special day for you? Well, not here. We are not sports fans but we will be doing some other special things today.
Mom has really ramped up the harness training, as I have mentioned before. Sometimes, she even puts it on me first thing in the morning — like today. I was trying to do my selfies but the harness kept distracting me. I’m really not as grumpy about it as I look. I’m doing much better with it. It just kept interfering with my concentration. Selfies are hard enough without having to deal with things like that.
OK, got to run. The Kitten Bowl on the Hallmark Channel is starting.
Have a Super Sunday,

Today is National Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day and I have just one burning question for mom. Why do you insist on continuing to torture me with the harness?
Mom replies: Oh, Christy, you are doing so much better with the harness, how can it still be torture? To answer your question, I really, really want you to be able to go for walks outside. I think once you are used to it, you will enjoy it so much you will be sorry you fought it so hard. You love it … Continue reading
If you read my post, Hard Decisions, you know that mom is trying to find new homes for some of my adopted brothers and sisters. MeoowzResQ had their regular Sunday adoption event at the Petco in Anaheim yesterday so mom took Fontana to see if someone might see her and fall in love. Fontana is a beautiful Siamese mix with gorgeous blue eyes — almost as striking as mine! She is a sweet girl who loves to cuddle. You can read more about her here. She was really scared at first but mom held her for a while and she realized it wasn’t so bad there. Unfortunately, it was a really slow … Continue reading
A Heartfelt Thank You
First off today, I want to apologize to my friend Dezi for failing to thank her for the award she gave me last week. I feel especially honored to receive this award since my blog is pretty new. It is really special to be recognized and acknowledged by your friends.
Since I am so new to the blogging world and the kitty blogosphere, I am still finding my way around and discovering all the wonderful blogs out there. So, rather than participating in nominating other blogs, I’ll just say thank you to Dezi and Lexi at Dezizworld. And, frankly, with all the commotion mom has going on right now, I can’t even think of seven things you don’t know about … Continue reading
Oh my catness! Mom finally told us what the big change is. As some of you guessed from the boxes, we are moving. But that’s not the half of it. I’m not going to be a city cat anymore. I’m going to be a country cat! Thank catness I don’t have to be as “country” as my country cousins. I’ll still be an indoor kitty but mom says it will be very different there.
She didn’t tell us sooner what was going on because things kept changing. She knew we had to move in October but she didn’t know where exactly we were going to live. Two options near where we live now, both of which she thought were … Continue reading
