My Missed Adventure

Road trip missed adventure I really enjoy riding around in my stroller with the top open so I can look around. I even liked doing it at BlogPaws as long as there weren’t too many loud noises or a lot of woofies.

On Saturday afternoon, on our way back to the room to rest up before the Nose-to-Nose Awards banquet, I decided it was time to explore the joint on my own.

As we got off the elevator, I jumped out of my stroller. I forgot that mom had me tethered in but it was just enough to flip me around and set my back feet on the floor. That made it just perfect for me to slither out of my harness. The elevator doors were closing so I had to make a mad dash. Rats, or MOUSES, as Nerissa always said. The doors closed just before I got there.

I turned to run in the other direction but the elevators are in a little alcove and mom was blocking my path. At that point, about all I could do was surrender. I probably could’ve slipped past the old girl mom but she was calling me so sweetly I couldn’t refuse her. Besides, I knew we’d be going to the banquet later. She’d have to open my stroller for the red carpet and I’d have another opportunity.

After a nice long nap, mom got a shower and got dressed. While she was getting ready, I bathed myself, too, because, of course, I wanted to look my best.

Mom put my harness on. Then, well, what’s this? She put on another harness over the first one and attached the leash. When she put me in the stroller, she hooked one harness to the tether on one side and the second harness to the tether on the other side! What treachery is this? I told you she is sneaky. I was tethered on both sides so there was no way I could get out of the stroller. That adventure I was counting on was not to be.

Wearing both harnesses - the cause of my missed adventure!

My leopard harness is larger so it does a good job of hiding my plain black harness underneath.

Here’s the photo I posted on Instagram of me and mom on the red carpet in case you didn’t see it.

  3. Christie, what a story you tell. My mouth was hanging open when you jumped out of your harness and headed for the elevator. I was disappointed you didn’t make it. Your mom sure had your number after that. The whole time in Phoenix was an adventure as far as I’m concerned! You were super.

I got to have an adventure once, a long time ago! My human was bringing our suitcase into the hotel room and I was already out of my carrier… and I just went right out the door and went trotting down the hall! It only took a few moments for my human to fetch me, but she had to follow me around a corner and everything. Now I don’t get let out of my carrier until all our luggage is in the room.

You looked awesome on the red carpet!

    • Christy Paws says:

Hi Summer. Wow, that was an adventure for sure. Mom was pretty careful with all the hotel room doors but she never thought I’d try to get out of the stroller. You looked wonderful in all your outfits.

  14. Kitties Blue says:

Christy, that is the most meowvolous art. Your eyes really pop. We hadn’t heard about what sounds more like an adventure than a missed one to us. Mom says she had not idea you were doubly tethered for the red carpet. Mom Ava is very sneaky. That red carpet photo is really terrific. Both you and your mom look so glamorous. We also enjoyed your film. Hope to see you tomorrow for selfies. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Gracie says she missed out on the adventure of eating Zoe’s food, because Dad caught her. Ha ha.

    • Christy Paws says:

I know, right? So many fun things I probably missed out on. I guess it could have gotten hairy with all those dogs around. Sorry Gracie got foiled eating Zoe’s food.

  19. Sammy says:

Well you certainly did TRY to have an adventure Christy but it’s probably good that you didn’t……you were safe and sound with your Mom but out wandering the hotel who knows what kind of trouble you could have encountered – like a NOT-FRIENDLY woofie!!! Your Saturday art is beautiful too…………

    Hugs, Sammy
